Mackerel pilaf in the oven

  • 2 tins canned mackerel in oil
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 bulb onion
  • vegetable oil to brown vegetables
  • salt, pepper and other spices to taste

Fish pilaf with canned mackerel is a nutritious and substantial dish for the whole family.

Recipe for mackerel pilaf

Chop the onion into cubes and grate carrot on a medium grater. Sauté vegetables over low heat. Rinse the rice thoroughly with hot water. Put the canned fish on a plate, mash with a fork, without separating the oil. Mix the roasting, rice and mackerel in a large container. Then put the garnish into a deep oiled baking tray. Prepare broth: dissolve salt, pepper and spices in two glasses of hot water. Pour water over rice so that the water level is 2 cm higher. Bake in the oven at 200ºC for 40 minutes. After baking, leave the pilaf in the heat for 20 minutes. Decorate the dish with herbs. Serve it hot.
